Happy New TS Album Release Day!!!!!
I have a long standing tradition with myself where any time a new Taylor Swift album is released, I pour over the lyrics as I listen to the songs for the first (and second, and third) time, writing down my favourites. I thought it would be fun to share them with you this time around : )
While I don't go into the lyrics in as much depth as some, I do love reading the connections others can make linking this song to that one.
Taylor is a wordsmith, and that is my favourite thing about her. She isn't afraid to be vulnerable, speaks her mind, and some of her one-liners are pure shimmering gold.
The album only came out today, so some songs that don't make this first list might be a top contender down the road. I would love to hear if you have a favourite that I didn't include here! ALSO it was only announced this morning that this is a surprise double album, so instead of 16 songs, we were blessed with 31. What!!!

Some little notes:
I love the play on words in "loml". The song seems to reference "love of my life", but only ever says "You said I'm the love of your life" and then at the end it changes the meaning completely with "You're the loss of my life" BAM! So good!!!
"Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?" I can't hear this song without picturing Alice in Wonderland when she is tiny and in a rage.
"I Can Do It With A Broken Heart" instantly reminded me of when she teared up singing False God on the Eras Tour (I talk like I was there, but the only tickets I've been able to get are front row on TikTok).
